25/1250 John Ridley served with the 25th (Tyneside
Irish) Battalion. Northumberland Fusiliers. He was a
miner at St Hilda's Colliery and was serving with 'C'
company when he was wounded on October 16 NW of
Poelcapelle. He was 20 years old when he died on
November 5. 1917. He was the son of John & Christiana
Ridley, who lived at 16 Military Rd. South Shields.
